I have been creating art for many years and in 2014 I made my instagram art account to share my art and now after all them years I am still sharing my work on the page. At first my work was a bit of everything, being inspired by what other people were creating but over the years I have found a style that I enjoy doing. Most of my art is inspired by the ocean or places I visit. For many years I have created beach paintings on canvases and on products for my small business, this including notebooks, coasters, room decor and bookmarks. As well as different products I sell some of my canvas paintings through my Etsy and Instagram (Agift4theseasons). I also love creating work of places I visit as I find this as another way to capture a memory. I create the art before I go and when I travel to the destination I take photos of the art there. I have created a blog post already of some of the travel art I have created and I have shared all photos and videos of the art on my Instagram (@danielles_art_xx).
I started to create paintings inspired by the beach when I was in my final year of high school in 2018, where I started to create this type of work for my art coursework and since then this has been something that I have loved creating.

As you can see this photo shows my inspiration
of my art, I love visiting beaches, both local and
when I am on holiday. This photo was taken when I went to Spain last summer and I created some ocean art before going to take photographs of them there with the sea in the background.
This painting is a gouache painting on an A5 piece of paper. I created this painting in the first lockdown, reflecting on places that I missed visiting. During this time I created many ocean and travel related pieces in different mediums. I also used this time at home to create artworks with different mediums such as gouache paint.

Last summer I visited London so I created many artworks of places I was going to visit while I was there. One of the artworks I created is a pen drawing of Big Ben on A5 paper. When I went back later in the year and again at the start of this year, I created more pieces with different materials and of different places I went.
In summer last year I also visited York, again I created many artworks of different places I visited. For this trip I tried something different to what I normally do and used watercolour and pen to create the artworks. I really liked the outcome of this of how both mediums worked together so I have created many more since.
Canvas paintings
Both of the canvas paintings below are the biggest canvas paintings that I have created. The photo on the left is one of my favourite canvas paintings I have created and I have shown it in many exhibitions.

For my canvas paintings I firstly prime the canvases before working on them. I use acrylic paint to create all paintings and to create texture of the water splashing I use a sponge.
I don't create as many canvas paintings as I would like as they take up so much space if I do not sell many, which is why I create a lot of art in a sketchbook.
If you want to see more of my artworks I share them on my Instagram page @danielles_art_xx
