Liverpool cathedral host installation events very often. During 2021 the cathedral had their first event after not being able to have any due to the pandemic lockdowns. In May they opened the Peace Doves installation, with restrictions in place to keep everyone safe, as only a certain amount of visitors were allowed in the cathedral at once.
The Peace Doves installation is designed by a renowned sculptor and artist Peter Walker. As part of the project thousands of school children and members of the community were invited to participate by writing a message of peace on a paper dove, which resulted in 18,000 paper doves hanging from the cathedral.
I attended on two different days and both times the colours of the lights were different. The first time I attended it was purple lights and the second time was red. I think this is very creative changing the colour of the lights as it makes the installation look different each time you visit as well as courages visitors to return again to see the installation in a different light.

All the installation projects at Liverpool Cathedral are always so beautiful, I love attending theses events and they happen so often!
