In June 2018 I was contacted by Instagram to be an art ambassador, which was such an amazing experience. I was an ambassador from 2018-2020 and I was invited to multiple of events, one in 2018, 2019 and 2020. As part of the Instagram ambassador programme the roles were to connect with the art community, take part in calls with the team, filling out questionnaires and trying out features before they launch as well as helping to come up with ideas for stickers.
The first Instagram event was in summer 2018, this was in the Facebook London office. We firstly had talks in a room decorated with the Instagram logo colours. There were tables of food and even a donut wall with the same colours as the instagram logo. We had inspiring talks and got to know everyone there, afterwards we got a tour of the Facebook/ Instagram office and had an artist workshop where an artist, @Cyarine on Instagram, came in and we created art together.

In 2019 I went to my second Instagram event in London along with many other artists from over the U.K. It was a very inspiring event, listening to inspiring talks from the Instagram team and talking to other artists. In the first room there were different photo setups which was really fun as well as tables of food. In the second room there was a stage where the talks took place and in the final room there was another section to take photos, one of them was an instagram bath tub where you could throw confetti which was really fun to do.
Before we went to the event a few of the artists, including myself, made an artwork relating to Instagram, either the logo, the post layout, or the colours. When we came together on the day and we took a photo together, which a very fun collaboration.

In 2020, just before the pandemic hit, I was invited to Vidcon by Instagram, I was able to meet a lot of other creators from different interests which was really inspiring. Everyone who were invited by instagram were able to go into the creator’s lounge which was such an amazing experience, it was filled with so many creators that I watch on YouTube or follow on instagram, it was so crazy being there.

I have had such an amazing experience with the instagram team and I have been able to meet so many incredible people from being a part of the art ambassador programme, I am so grateful! A big thank you to Eva from the instagram team at the time, who made this happen for me!!
Such a lovely read, so nice to see all the photos you took from the events! Definitely an incredible experience and I’m glad to have had the chance to be a part of it too - an experience I won’t forget !!
