From 28th September until 2nd October I went on a trip to Barcelona for my birthday. While I was there I visited many places which I will show in this blog. On two of the days of the trip I went on the city hop on and off buses which I found was a really good way to see so much of Barcelona and to get off the stops I wanted to spend time at. Barcelona is so big so it took a while to walk from one place to another, so the buses were a great way to travel around and hop off when we wanted to. I stayed in the Sensation Sagrada apartments by La Sagrada Família which was such a stunning apartment as the rooftop had incredible views.
I filmed a Youtube video while I was there:
La Sagrada Família
I was staying a 5 minute walk away from La Sagrada Família and every day I visited it, I love this building so much. It is amazing that each side of the basilica looks so different, as one side is the new design and the other is the old designs. La Sagrada Família is Gaudi's most famous works in Barcelona and is such a monumental building in the city. At night part of the basilica lights up, which is so beautiful.

Parc Güell
On the first full day I went on the city hop on and off bus and one of the first stops we got off was Parc Güell. The park is an enormous garden with stunning architectural elements designed by Antoni Gaudí and is absolutely stunning. It was like being in a fairytale, there was so much to see around the park as well as seeing a view of Barcelona. You do have to pay for the tickets for the entrance but it was definitely worth it.
Here's is some photos I took while visiting as well as a painting I did.

Views from apartment rooftop
I stayed at Sensation Sagrada apartments while visiting Barcelona. The views on the roof terrace was a close up view of La Sagrada Família, which was incredible, I even got to see the sun setting up there one of the nights.

Casa Batlló

Casa Batlló is designed by the famous architect Antoni Gaudí. The building is so beautiful and the details are insane. At night it is also amazing as the building has lights which lights up areas of the building.
You can purchase tickets to go inside the house, which I did not have time to do, but it is a popular tourist attraction.

The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc
The Magic water Fountains was an amazing show, there was such a variety of songs and were on from 9am until 10pm. The fountains were absolutely gorgeous showing a display of music, colour, light and water acrobatics. In the day we were around this area and to see it in the night while the fountains were on was incredible. The views were insane as behind the fountains is the Museu Nacional d'Art Catalunya. You definitely have to visit it while at Barcelona, it is a must!

Museu Nacional d'Art Catalunya
The area around Museu Nacional d'Art Catalunya is so stunning and the building itself is so beautiful. I did not get a chance to go inside the gallery but I will definitely make time for this next time I visit Barcelona. The view looking up to the gallery with the fountain is insane as well as the view from the gallery of the views of Barcelona.

Sant Pau Recinte Modernista

On the last day I visited Sant Pau Recinte Modernista and on the day we came it was free for the public to enter, this was a Sunday. The building used to be an old hospital and inside there were exhibitions and videos reflected showing when it used to be a hospital. The architecture of the building is so stunning. As well as the main building there are gardens with other buildings, in a similar style. I did not expect it to be so big. It is definitely worth a visit.

Port Vell

Barcelona port is somewhere we did not think of visiting until we were on the hop on and off buses and went passed it and we had to get off after seeing how stunning the area was. It is so different to all the other areas of Barcelona, I am so glad I got off to walk around here.

La Boqueria Market
La Boqueria Market is Barcelona's most famous market located right in the heart of the busy Las Ramblas avenue.

Barcelona cathedral
The Barcelona Cathedral is such a beautiful building, unfortunately when I visited part of the cathedral was being refurbished and they decided to cover it with an advertisement which did not look great. However, the architecture of the building itself is incredible.

Views of Barcelona
There are many points in Barcelona that have such beautiful views of the city. Below the photos were taken on the city bus while going up the the olympic stadium and the other photo is from the top floor of the bull ring shopping centre, where you can see a view of Museu Nacional d'Art Catalunya.

Estadi Olímpic
I visited Barcelona's Olympic stadium, which was really amazing to see. The stadium was built in preparation for the international Expo in 1929 and then renovated in 1989 for the summer Olympics in 1992. The stadium was also free to enter when I visited and it was amazing to see around the Olympic stadium.

Sant Miquel Beach
Visiting the beach while in Barcelona felt like I was somewhere else, after being in the city rush and sightseeing to then being on a beach.

I had a really good trip in Barcelona, I definitely want to go back again! If you enjoyed seeing my photography and art and want to see more, my Instagram pages are @danielles_art_xx and @capturethis._
