During 2022, Liverpool Cathedral held 2 light shows, during the start and the end of the year. The first event in February was titled Space, the Universe and Everything, creating a journey for the audience to travel through space, light and time. The event was so magical, watching the journey through space by the reflections on the cathedral walls. On both sides of the main walls there were two light shows that took place as well as another show in another area of the cathedral, that showed stars. The event ran from Friday 18th February until Sunday 27th February and took place for roughly 40 minutes.
As well as the shows on the cathedral walls there were more pieces to see, such as the disco ball that lit up different colours and created reflections and the angel wings that were reflected on a wall for people to take photos with. As this event was the first light show the tickets sold out very quickly and were in high demand, hopefully they will do more this year.
Space, the Universe and Everything

The light before Christmas
After attending the Space, the Universe and Everything light show, as soon as I saw there was another light event I booked tickets to go to it. This light show was for Christmas which was also incredible and was so different to the first show I attended at the start of the year. Again both sides of the cathedral were transformed by show reflections, which related to Christmas images. There were also Christmas decorations around the Cathedral which went well with the light show.

Both of the events were incredible, and such a unique experience, not only were there light shows, there were also music playing which created a magical atmosphere. I hope to attend more if they create more shows this year.
